Dwarka: Society parks are supposed to promote the overall well-being of community people. However, exposed cable wires in the neighbourhood park behind Radhika Apartments in Sector 14 tell a different picture. CitySpidey took the photographs to show how the cables connected to the electric panel are on the ground and not underground as deemed by rules.

Looking at the panel, it was found that there is a meter in which electric supply is on. When the photographs were taken the meter was running. The entire thread of wires is just near the walking track and a few feet away from the open-air gym. People who work out here are usually oblivion to such wires. In such a scenario, if there is even a minimal chance of any electric flow and leakage then it may turn out to be a cause of mishap.

As said by one of the experts in the electrical department, such thick wires are safe yet those should be kept underground and that is mandatory. He also said that such wires could be dangerous in case of cut or leakage. According to him, any leakage or cut which is possible during rain, such wires could cause electrocution.

In these photographs, there can be seen a small naked white wire parallel to the black wire lying on the ground. On that, the expert said that first, it must be checked whether the said wire is live or dead. He said that possibility is that the particular wire must be dead but the concerned agency should ensure whether it is dead or live and do the needful for the safety of the people.

Wires almost touching the walking track and connected to the electrical box erected there.
One can see the naked part in the metre and also the electricity in that.
