Since the beginning of Covid 19, masks have become an inevitable part of our life. Wearing masks was earlier mandatory for doctors and health professionals but is now a necessity for visiting public places, such as cafes and grocery stores, as a protection against the coronavirus.

Wearing masks has a new normal for everyone. One can step out, forgetting to apply mascara or kajal, but not without wearing a mask. While it acts as a barrier against airborne bacteria outside, they have brought undesirable surprises underneath the skin. Wear a neat and clean mask: It is mandatory to wash your mask regularly, as it collects dust and sweat. Reusing the same mask can create skin irritation. Choose a breathable mask made of cloth that doesn’t sit very tightly on the skin.

Wash your face regularly: It is advisable to clean up before and after wearing a mask so that dust and unwanted bacteria do not sit on our skin for a long period. Neem is known to battle pimple-causing microorganisms with its antibacterial properties, while turmeric has solid calming properties that assist with relieving your skin.

Try to avoid makeup: Heavy makeup leads to clogging of pores on the skin. And may lead to pimples and acne. Don’t let your laziness ruin your skin. Always remember to remove your makeup before sleeping to avoid spots. Wearing minimal make-up can decrease skin irritation and help keep the mask cleaner for a more extended period.

Switch to silk masks: Experts suggest that when suffering from Maskne, one must immediately shift to silk masks. Silk fabric has always been beneficial to the skin. Whether it’s a silk pillow or silk mask, it won’t give you any rash around your cheeks. Silk masks have been shown to be effective in terms of protecting against facial irritation.

Try not to wear a mask for too long continuously: When not at home or not in the group, try to rest after every 4 hours from the mask and open the skin to the clean air.
