Dandiya is a traditional folk dance of Gujarat and is performed during Navratri. The dance is performed in a group of both men and women with sticks in their hands. During the dance, the performers take rounds in two circles characteristically striking at each other’s sticks making a rhythmic sound.

Men, women and children were all attired in beautiful ghagra cholis and played Dandiya with each other. The organisers had displayed beautiful pandals and served light refreshments to all the participants. They awarded prizes to the best performers, best couple, best-dressed kids.

They provided a much-needed opportunity to the community group to overcome the aloofness of the pandemic which had forced the people to stay indoors for more than one year.

The cultural committee of this society is headed by SC Shukla and assisted by Anand Bansal, Kusum Singh, S Kashyap, Rashmi Bhati, Anju Malik, Shweta, Bhairavi and others.

Dr KS Bhati, the president of the society, thanked SP Tripathi and his children for presenting the novel feat and wished them the best of success. Gulshan Malik, Vice President, conducted the prize distribution.
