Morris Garages is back with a bang after the massive success of MG Hector in India. After launching on October 11, the car has created a buzz yet again. MG cars are crafted with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and are the first to introduce them in cars in India. MG aims to further its auto-tech focus by building on the concept of Car-as-a-Platform (CAAP) of possibilities and services for its consumers. MG Astor will be the first vehicle model to feature Level 2 autonomous technology.
The first appearance of MG Astor was displayed during the Auto Expo event. MG Astor was unveiled earlier last month. It comes loaded with features, some of which are completely novel.
MG Motors, while describing MG Astor said, “Styled to perfection, Astor impresses at first glance with its striking and elegant contours.” The new Astor SUV offers as many as eight trims and gives around 20 variations to pick from. MG Motors has named the trims as Style, Super, Smart STD, Smart, Sharp STD, Sharp, Savvy and Savvy Red.
The new MG Astor consists of the superior driving force assistant system (ADAS), AI non-public assistant, and more. MG Astor is also a compact SUV for the Indian roads.
The personal AI assistant can depict human-like emotions and voices and can give detailed information on every topic through multiple sites. I-smart Hub powers this car. Different varieties and features will allow customers to customise their vehicles according to their choice. This time, MG motors has brought more advanced features into their AI-loaded cars and have doubled their safety features and durability.
Engine options in MG Astor
The MG Astor gets few engine options — 1.5-litre VTi-TECH N/A petrol (110PS of maximum power and 144Nm of peak torque) and 1.3-litre Brit Dynamic 220TURBO petrol (140PtotalIndian full power and 220Nm of peak torque).
The 1.5-litre petrol unit can be paired either with a 5-speed MT or a CVT automatic. The 1.3-litre turbo-petrol team is offered with a 6-speed AT torque converter.
