Mayfair Residency: Residents protest for sixteenth consecutive week

Greater Noida: Residents of Mayfair Residency, a highrise society in Techzone 4, Greater Noida West, on Sunday protested for sixteenth consecutive weeks against the builder for the issues prevalent in the society. They demanded a proper road, a permanent electricity connection, and a clean basement of the society.

Residents shared a tweet

Residents of the society said that the authority is very slow in action and that's why their builder is very agile. Mayfair residents protested for the sixteenth consecutive week and expressed their anger but no one has listened to their complaints. The residents shared that they are suffering due to a lack of various basic amenities in society.

Society is under construction for the last 12 years. There are 12 towers, 70 families are presently living in towers A, B, C and D of the society. Residents shared that the society doesn’t have internal roads and there is no permanent electricity connection. The builder allowed residents possession on an agreement of sublease and is now depriving them of services.

Ravi Choudhary, a resident of the society, said, “Our society is still under construction. Without any OC/CC, the builder allowed residents possession on an agreement of sublease. There is no Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) in society. The builder supplied groundwater without any treatment.”

Another resident, Vivek shared, “Whenever you buy any flat, there is a builder-buyer agreement, in which, they share the basic amenities which they will provide to the buyers. We are not asking for a gym or pool, we are just asking for the basic amenities like good roads, water, electricity etc. The builder is acting like a dictator, he is forcing residents to sign undertaking forms and without OC/CC, the builder doesn’t have the right to charge maintenance charges and has been violating many guidelines.”

An official from the builder's office, on condition of anonymity, shared, “The work is in progress and all the demands of residents will be resolved soon.”
