Noida: Residents of Mahagun Mirabella, a highrise residential society in Sector 79, Noida, kickstarted the celebrations of Durga Puja with great festive fervour. The celebrations included Dandiya night which totally absorbed the residents in festivity.
The celebrations have been going on since the onset of Navrati. It started with regular Saptashi recitation, aarti, idol installation of Goddess Durga, havan, kanya poojan, and bhandara.
To make the festival musical, Dandiya and Bhajan Sandhya were also organised by the residents on October 9. With vibrant ghagras and choli, residents played Dandiya and began the festival night.
The ladies were dressed in beautiful traditional dresses and jewellery. Residents said that the craze for Dandiya night was amazing with everyone participating with full zest and zeal.
Ashok Vardhan, a resident of the society, said, “On October 10, the residents were absorbed in the devotion of Maa Durga and organised Mata ki Chowki and Bhandara by a famous troupe of Delhi. Dignitaries of Noida also participated in the festival. Be it children or adults, men or women or even senior citizens, all enjoyed shaking a leg in the Dandiya night.”
“Jhankis were just magical; the interplay of music, light and religious characters brought the leelas alive,” a resident of the society, Suman Singh said.
Another resident, Vivek Kumar said, “Who doesn't love to dance, but dancing on the rhythm of bhajans was such a divine experience.”
PK Jauhari said, “The bhajans presented by the troupe were enchanting and created an aura of Devi Bhakti.”
