Greater Noida: The residents of Mayfair Residency, a highrise society in Techzone 4, Greater Noida West, faced a lot of difficulties after the water supply pipeline burst in the basement. They faced a shortage in the water supply. The pipeline was eventually repaired after 40 hours.

They shared a tweet,

Residents shared that the society doesn’t have a water connection from the Greater Noida Authority. Builder supplies groundwater without any treatment which is illegal. The shortage of water in society was from the night of October 10. After checking, residents found that the pipeline to the water tank had burst.

Residents shared that due to the bursting of pipes, waterlogged in the basement of the society. While residents of the society were doing preparation for the Dusherra festival, they found snakes in the parking. We also sent an e-mail to the Greater Noida Authority. According to the residents, snakes came out on the surface because of waterlogging. Society is under construction for the last 11 years.

On Sunday, the residents protested for sixteenth consecutive weeks against the builder for the issues prevalent in the society. They demanded a proper road, a permanent electricity connection, and a clean basement of the society.

A resident, on the condition of anonymity, said, “This is why we are protesting every week for the basic amenities. Earlier, the connection of the gas pipeline was broken and now water supply. We are demanding basic needs in society.”

Vivek, another resident of the society said, “We are protesting every Sunday and demanding only basic amenities in the society. Society is under construction for the last 11 years. The construction wastage is dumped into the basement. Due to waterlogging, after bursting of water supply pipes, we found three snakes in the parking, while doing preparation of Dusherra. Now, the residents are reluctant to go there. It is a big threat to our life.”
