Noida’s 7x sectors' residents wrestle with parking issues

The 7x sectors in Noida are struggling with parking issues. As most of the markets are near highrise societies where there is no dedicated parking space, it leads to traffic jams. Residents say that due to the lack of planned development, parking on the roadside is creating traffic blockage.

There is a need to regularise parking outside these market areas. Some residents said that the permission for shops in the name of the convenience shop in front of society is a huge problem as it becomes the center of the traffic jam.

Brajesh Sharma, a member of the 7x Welfare Team that conducts road safety awareness drives, said, “On one side, we are crying about traffic jams on society connecting roads, while on the other hand, we are taking our vehicles into service lanes which are occupied by car parking. The market should always be away from these residential areas for holistic development. Advanced countries have that setup, even Noida has planned that way.”

“Whatever comes into our knowledge, we take it into consideration and act on it. We have started a traffic control number. We check through Google Maps if anything is causing traffic jams in any locality of Noida and we try to solve it immediately,” said an official from the Traffic control room.

“As the construction is going on near Parthala Chowk, we are there to keep a check on traffic. The service lane issue is more prominent near Gaur City and we are presently working on it, for which, we also had a word with authority for resolving this issue soon. Apart from this, whenever anyone informs us about any issues related to traffic blockage, we immediately try to resolve it,” he added.
