Noida: The 7x Sports City Foundation, a community group of 7x sectors in Noida, who has been continuously making efforts regarding the drain line adjacent to Gaur Sportswood, which is causing accumulation of water on Sports City land will be now solved, possibly within three months, as said by the Noida Authority.
The official letter mentioned, “You are hereby informed that the contract bond for the Sewerage [making Sewer line connectivity to main trunk sewer line in Sector-79], Noida has been accepted on behalf of CEO Noida. The date of start of the work has been taken as on October 11, which may be completed by January 1, 2022.”
The situation of accumulation of water on Sport City land has become so dreadful that almost a pond of sewer water has started forming on the Sports City plot. Earlier, the residents have said that the sewer line is not even functional since it has been laid. It is completely choked in front of Gaur Sportswood and the entire sewer line water is flowing in Sports City land adjacent to the society. But now, as the issue has been acknowledged by the authority, it may be solved soon.
“It is not only a potent source of pathogenic organisms but also a very fertile breeding ground for mosquitoes. This open accumulation of water is damaging the ecosystem of sectors and also contaminating the groundwater of sectors. Further, the accumulation of water will lead to vector-borne diseases like malaria and dengue. The residents will have to suffer life-threatening ailments. But now that this issue has been recognised, it will be very helpful for the residents,” said Sanwarjeet Singh, a resident of Gaur Sportswood in Sector 79.
