Golf Link 1: Handover issue result in utter lack of maintenance

Greater Noida: The residents of Golf Link-1 are facing a lack of basic amenities since the past several years. As informed by the residents, Greater Noida Authority allotted the plot of this colony to the developer on a freehold basis under a  scheme. The Authority had placed the condition that the developer should  develop the colony first and obtain the completion certification for the same. Thereafter, the developer should maintain it for the first 1 year and then handover the colony to the Greater Noida Authority. But many years later, this handover is still pending, resulting in dire maintenance issues.

Residents are demanding their rights by making rounds of social media and authority offices.

Surendra Sharma, a resident of Golf Link- 1, said, “According to the conditions mentioned in MOU, the authority had to take the handover of the colony from the developer in 2012 but they did not take any action  in that matter. The residents lodged the complaint with the Authority many times but they did not take any action in this matter. After 2012, the  Greater Noida Authority did not do any development work here. The  developer had left doing his job. For the last 10 years, the roads,  parks , sewer and other infrastructure inside the colony are in worse  condition. There are deep potholes in the roads. During rain, it becomes inundated”.

RWA President Dharmendra Kataria, said, “We are constantly making rounds of the officials of the authority. But the officials are not giving any satisfactory answer. Children, women, and elderly all get stuck in their homes during rain as the entire society inundates. The buyers are demanding that  instead of making excuses, the authority should tell them the reason  for not taking over Golf Link-1 Colony on the basis of documents till now. No development work has been done in this colony since the last  10 years. There is a severe lack of infrastructure. All the roads in the colony are broken”.

Another resident, Amardeep Chaudhay, said, “ Ever since rain started,  children of the society have not been able to play in the park.  Children play on the road which is also dangerous as the roads are  also broken. We invest our money so that our children don’t suffer in any way but here we are, forced to refuse them permission to go out. There were swings in the park but they broke and were never repaired again. 2-3 days back, my wife was going to our neighbour’s house as there were no street lights. She used her phone light. She saw a snake going in another direction. It was not the first time that we saw a snake in the park".

According to the residents, in view of the problem of the buyers, the authority has now constituted a committee. This committee will study the terms of the agreement and submit its report to the CEO Narendra Bhushan. However, residents said that they are still not highly satisfied with this information.
