Senior citizens wear black band in show of the protest

“Why can’t we hang out at our own club house?

Thirty-thirty five elderly Sare Homes, a residential society in Sector  92, Gurugram , on Saturday Demonstrated peaceful protest against RWA  by putting black band. According to the residents, For the last 7-8  months from the time of the last RWA,Elders of Sare Homes used to hang  out in the back room of the club house at the scheduled time. The  permission for the same was given by the old Rwa in a written  document. However, last Monday, when the elders reached the club  house, they found the room locked.

Bhupendra Singh Negi, Senior Citizen of Sare Homes, said, “ When we  asked the estate manager about why the room was locked we found that  the RWA's head and vice-president had refused to let the elders sit.  We asked them for some written documents where they officially  communicated, the estate manager said they don’t have anything in  writing. We waited for 3-4 days to get official written documents but  we didn’t get any, even the Rwa members didn’t receive our calls. On  Saturday we decided to protest against the RWA, But again none of the  representatives of RWA took cognizance. President of the RWA said he  is out and the secretary said he needs to take care of his shop. Then  we  elders decided to inform the police. The police came and  understood the whole matter and saw all the papers.  Then they  contacted the RWA but the RWAs kept telling lies and even imposed  false slanders on the elders, which are absolutely indecent. Later  someone switched off the phone and someone stopped picking up. Then  the police intervened. On the basis of written complaints and  documents, till further orders, the police opened the back room of the  club house for the elderly”.

Praveen Malik, a resident & ex-president of the RWA (Phase 1 & 2),  said, “After the Police intervened and opened the club house, the  Police strictly gave the orders that If this room is closed now then  it will be a violation of the orders of the police. As many of the  seniors have paid for the club house or son or daughters of the  seniors, so this is not any favour they are asking for they deserve it”.

CitySpidey also tried to reach out to the Rwa member but currently he  was not available. We will update the article once we reach out to him  again.
