Supertech Capetown- Park demand becomes ground for residents discord

The residents of Cc1/2 tower, Supertech Capetown, are demanding a playground with features that were promised to them by the Supertech builder for the last two and a half years. However, till now, the builder has not been able to deliver that. According to the residents, the builder is charging high maintenance charges but has not been able to develop a good play area for children. They also said that for the last two and a half years, the builder has installed some swings in front of premium flats which is not of standard quality and hence residents are demanding to remove them from years.

Ajay Pandey, a resident of the society, said, “We have sit in several meetings with the directors for this, but in every meeting, these people give a date for the next one or two months and don’t obey it”.

Maryam Rasheed, a resident of the society, said, “Outdoor activities are an integral part of a Child’s development, especially in the post-COVID-19 era where kids desperately need to go out and play with children of their age group. Lack of good quality swings in our tower front lawns, which were promised by the builder are denying opportunities for the social and physical development of children in our towers. Supertech should immediately address this long pending issue here”.

Dr. Prabha Singh, a resident of the society, said, “Young children can develop many skills by playing with other children such as nurturing imagination and giving the child a sense of adventure. Through this, they can learn essential skills such as problem-solving, working with others, sharing, and developing the ability to concentrate.”

Abhilasha Pandey, a resident of the society, said, “When we bought the flat, we were told that a very beautiful play area would be developed in front of these two towers for the children to play. However, the builder could not fulfill this promise till date”.

Shweta Suri, a resident of the society, said, “We all work towards the comfort and well-being of our kids. The basic part of their development is having a good recreation and play area. When we had bought our property, we were assured of a play area with swings like the ones near gate 1 Club 1. But to our horror and surprise, we got swings that are absolutely obsolete and also hazardous for our kids. Not only is the area inadequate but also not safe due to stray dogs wandering around. We would like the authorities to take serious note of this. Let’s not wait for an incident to happen and then react. The authorities should proactively ask the builder to get our kids a proper play area”.

Deeksha Malik, a resident of the society, said, “Supertech is not keeping its promises. They have promised all of the residents that the front lawn will be developed as a beautiful playground for the children, however, the present picture is entirely different. Not even the rides have been replaced and are old and in not good condition.  Moreover, the beautification is still not done and the old sales office in a shed is spoiling the beauty, wild plants are the home of insects/ stray dogs and risk to the children as well.”
