Residents Speak: Peepal tree for worship or a place to dump garbage?

This year started like every year with the cleaning of houses before Diwali. Amidst this, the Peepal tree, a place of worship, has become a mess as the diyas and idols kept below it have turned into debris. Moreover, every year people clean their houses and put broken and old murtis under peepal trees. This is the tree to worship and all we do is dump garbage under it.

It happens every year, and this issue aggravates around Diwali. Some people pick up the waste and then click a photo just to show that they have done the cleaning. But why does it happen in the first place?

This cleaning should be done throughout the year. This is something which we all must look into. I had taken this photo 15 days ago and the situation has not changed till now.
