Diwali 2021: Dwarka prepping with pre-Diwali celebrations

Dwarka: With Diwali round the corner, Dwarka is gearing up with pre-Diwali celebrations. On Sunday, residents of New Jai Bharat, Sector-4, Dwarka organised a Diwali Carnival. The celebration in society drew people from all walks of life looking to chill and involve in the preparation for the festival of lights.

The carnival is held every year a week before Diwali for the residents to jointly celebrate the festival of light. People devoured the delicacies at the food stalls and played games.

Young and old, men and women, everyone from the society contributed to making the carnival a hit. For the entertainment of the society members, several social and cultural programmes were held. Members of the society also took to the stage and sang a group song to a cheering crowd while young girls were seen dancing to the tune of Bollywood numbers.

Several stalls were also set up with decorative and household items for pre-Diwali shopping by female residents.

The entire society was decked up for the occasion. The main gate was illuminated with bright colourful lights while the common area was decorated with flowers and vibrant dupattas. DJ lights were also used for special effects on the performance area.

Prizes were given to the following categories:
-Best Stall,
-Best organized Stall,
-Stall with the maximum sale

Yash Pal Singh, president of Jai Bharat Apartments, said, “I want to thank the residents & children for organising this wonderful event and wish Happy Diwali to all.”

Dwarkadheesh Apartments, Dwarka Sector-12 also hosted Diwali Mela in their society.

The society residents have been enjoying quite a Diwali Mela over the weekend. Residents of the society played games, there were stalls for shopping and snacks as they flocked to take a break from the humdrum.

Stalls of food, clothes, decor items, plants and even composting were put up and DJ was the main attraction of the event.
