CONRWA communicates its dengue fears to Noida Authority

The Confederation of NCR Residents’ Welfare Association (CONRWA) has communicated its concerns to the CEO of Noida Authority, PK Aggarwal, about the dengue and chikungunya menace in the city. It has urged the Authority to urgently initiate measures to control the spread of the diseases in the city, which have already claimed several lives in the capital.

PS Jain, president of CONRWA, confirmed that the number of cases in Noida over the past few weeks had increased alarmingly. But the officials of the health department were seemingly in no hurry to take preventive steps. They had not cleaned up the city’s drainage, nor had they done anything to stop the breeding of mosquitoes.

Jain said the Authority had to carry out fogging in all residential, commercial and institutional areas. Surprisingly, despite the threat of an epidemic, the Authority, which had carried out a massive fogging drive in the past, had decided to discontinued the practice this year.

Besides this, Jain added, the Authority should also involve the RWAs to create awareness among residents. The RWAs, he said, were more than willing to extend their support to the Authority.
