The Haryana government is set to focus on development and providing employment during its Swarn Jayanti Varsh (Golden Jubilee Year). Chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Saturday announced at the conference on "Growth of SME-Role of Capital Market" in Gurgaon that jobless post graduates would be given an opportunity to work for 100 hours with a supporting allowance of Rs 9,000 November 1, 2016.  

He also said that efforts would be made to provide jobs to 2 lakh unemployed youth through entrepreneurship. A corpus fund of Rs 1,000 crore would be created for start-ups in the state.

Khattar said that the state government is adopting cluster approach for development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME). He added that two tool rooms were functioning in Saha and Rohtak and that two new tool rooms would be set up at Gurgaon and Faridabad. 

The chief minister also said that Panchkula and Sirsa districts have been declared Open-Defecation Free on Saturday. Eight more districts would follow suit by November 1. He said that a target has been set to make Haryana a Open-Defecation Free state by December, 2017.

Speaking on “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao” programme, he said that there has been a considerable improvement in the sex ratio in the state after the implementation of the programme.

Rao Narbir Singh, Haryana public works (building and roads) minister, and Vipul Goel, industries minister, were also present at the occasion. The conference was organised by BSE.
