The South West District Legal Services Authority  (SW-DSLSA) in collaboration with Muskan Foundation, Child Care Institution, took out an Anti-Drug rally in JJ Cluster of Sector-3, Dwarka on November 2. During the event, the residents were made aware of drug abuse and drug addiction.

South West- DLSA, under the able guidance of Ms Neha Priya (Secretary,  SW-DLSA) is regularly organizing rallies, door to door campaigns, legal awareness programs

During the rally, the para legal volunteers, Anganwadi workers,  students from Trinity Institute of Professional Studies, LAC of DLSA  South-West District raised slogans like “Drug-Free India”,  “Choose live over Drugs”, “Health India, Drug-Free India”, and sensitized people about drug abuse.

The rally commenced from the office of Muskan Foundation at Srichand park, near Vikash medical, Sec-3 Dwarka, Delhi and culminated at the same point. Dr Bharat Bhushan, founder, Muskan Foundation also participated in the Rally and made residents of the area aware of the ill effects of drugs. Around 60 people participated in the rally and it sensitized around the 2500 residents of the area.

On 27th October, in another Outreach programme as part of Pan India  Awareness, the South West District Legal Services Authority, under the aegis of National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) NALSA and District  Legal Services Authority (DSLSA), organized a Legal Awareness Program on the services provided by DSLSA as well as on Menstrual Hygiene at  Sarvodaya Kanya Vidyalaya, Chhawla.

Moreover, Ms Tanya Gupta, Co-founder of WOMENITE was the resource person for the programme. She facilitated information at the session and made the girls aware of Menstrual hygiene management (MHM) and dispelled Myths around Menstruation. She also distributed sanitary kits to all the girls.

Ms Heena, Para-Legal volunteers (PLV), South-West DLSA, Dwarka helped in organizing the program with the school and distributed legal literacy educational material to spread awareness on the role and services of DLSA. About 300 girls from the school benefitted from this awareness program.

The South West District Legal Services Authority aims to continue such legal awareness programs and help desks in various areas of the South-West District for the welfare of the people.

In the next phase, SW-DLSA will be celebrating the “Legal Services Week” from 8th-14thNovember, 2021 and organize mega services camps, awareness programs in jails, competitions in law colleges and schools.
