The Air Quality Index of Noida and Ghaziabad has gone worse after Diwali. In several areas of these cities, the AQI is above 400, which is categorised as hazardous. Some residents across Noida have posted pictures from their balcony showing pollution pictures and showcasing how badly pollution is reflecting all over the city.
Despite the banning of firecrackers by the government on Diwali, fireworks were observed. In cities like Noida and Greater Noida, fireworks are not the only sources of pollution. As per residents, the lack of public transport compels people to take out their own personal vehicles which adds to the pollution. The construction sites are also one of the major contributors in the pollution in these cities.
