Why Noida Sec 52 residents don't venture near the park after dusk

Defunct high-mast lights in the Sector 52 C Block park has made it a hub of antisocial elements after dusk.

"We registered our grievance with Noida Authority's online complaint cell the moment we noticed the two non-functional lights a month ago," said Amrish Tyagi, the sector's RWA president. "But the Authority officials are yet to attend to the complaint, despite four already lodged till date. It has encouraged drunkards to consume alcohol and raise a ruckus in the park every single day. It has vitiated the neighbourhood environment."

The Authority's complaint cell said the problem was to be rectified by Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd (PVVNL), as the root cause was faulty power supply.

City Spidey approached Salil Yadav, the Authority's project engineer, but he was not available for comment. An officer from his department said they had already contacted PVVNL to resolve the issue. He, however, assured City Spidey that the lights would be functional in two days' time.
