Mayfair Residency: Residents protest enters twentieth week

GreNo West: Residents of Mayfair Residency, a highrise society in Techzone 4, Greater Noida West, on Sunday continued the protest for the twentieth consecutive week against the builder for the prevalent issues in the society. They demanded a clean basement of the society.

Residents alleged that the sewage water is dumped into the basement. The leakage from the pipe and seepage from the pillars of the basement makes the structure's foundation weak. The residents said that earlier, they had also filed a complaint to Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) in which they mentioned the issue of dumping of garbage/construction and demolition waste inside the society premises. Residents also filed a complaint against the builder in Bisrakh Police Station.

Residents shared that the condition of the basement is getting worse. The water supply in society is unhealthy. According to the residents, they are getting sick by drinking dirty water. Residents say that the water smells bad and even the water purifier is not able to filter it. Also, there is no Sewage Treatment Plant in society as per residents.

Around 70 families are presently living in towers A, B, C and D. The society has 12 towers, eight towers are under construction. Residents demand the proper roads and the electricity grid in society.

Ravi, a resident of the society said, “The society does not have Sewage Treatment Plant. All sewage water is dumped in the basement. It will affect the structure of the building. The life of 70 families is at risk. For the last 2.5 years, the condition of the basement is pathetic. We also filed a complaint in the police station and with the authority, but no one has listened to us.”

Prateet Baijal, a resident of the society said, “Unhealthy water supplied in the society. The condition of the basement is becoming bad every passing day. The society also has bad internal road and waterlogging can affect the foundation of society.
