Ghaziabad: A General Body Meeting (GBM) was held in Shipra Vista society at 8 pm on November 8. Around 80 plus members of the society were present in the meeting. The meeting was held for electing six new board members so the election process can be initiated in the society which had been pending for around five years.
In the meeting, the majority of society flat owners proposed the removal of 6 members from the board under the model bylaw clause (28). Clause 28 says that at any regular or special meeting duly called, any one or more of the office bearers may be removed with or without cause by a majority of apartment owners, a successor may then and there be elected to feel the vacancy thus created.
Amita Mahapatra, Executive board member, ”Seeing the majority against them, Arun Rai walked out of the meeting with 15 supporters trying to adjourn the meeting. As the majority of present flat-owners were against the adjournment, the GBM meeting continued in the presence of executive board members me and Vasudha Gupta”. Amita further alleged Rai of spreading false information in the media.
The new Board members elected in the meeting are Nivedita Tiwary, Suresh Dhali, Sri Krishna, Ajay Dhar, Gyan Sheel, Pratap S. Rathore. On Tuesday morning, the first meeting of the board was also held.
