'Keep 4 dustbins in the house' appeals Municipal Corporation

Ghaziabad: Municipal Corporation officials are appealing to the people to keep four dustbins in the house. An appeal is being made to collect wet waste in the first dustbin, dry waste in the second, organic waste in the third and harmful waste in the fourth.

However, earlier the Municipal Corporation had appealed to the residents to keep two dustbins to keep wet and dry waste separately in the house. “The Municipal Corporation should do the work of segregation of garbage on its own. Don't just rely on people. Wet, dry and harmful waste can be separated from the garbage using modern machines.” Amit Kumar, a local resident said.

“It is the responsibility of the townspeople to collect the garbage separately so that the city can be made clean and beautiful. People are being urged to keep four types of dustbins in the house. Give wet garbage daily. Collect organic waste, dry, harmful waste in different dustbins so that it helps in waste disposal.”, said Pramod Kumar, Additional Municipal Commissioner.

Dr Dhirendra Kumar, environmentalist and professor in BHU said, “ The pollution in Ghaziabad is quite severe. The Garbage disposal problem is also unresolved and persistent. This problem needs a collective effort of both authority and citizens so that it can be resolved soon. The four dustbin system is a good approach towards it. If this could be implied on the ground then surely there would be a better outcome.”
