Residents of Vasundhara Enclave group housing societies are set to wait one more year for the two mohalla (neighbourhood) clinics in their area, as the deadline for the Delhi government’s pilot project was extended for another year on Wednesday.

The project, which will set up 1,000 clinics in residential societies throughout the city, was launched six months ago, with September 22 as the deadline.

Earlier, representatives of several cooperative group housing societies in Vasundhara Enclave had told City Spidey that two mohalla clinics would be set up in the area.

Anil Pandey, president of the Joint Forum of Vasundhara Enclave group housing societies, said that residents had been eagerly waiting for the scheme to kick off. "There are 45 societies, apart from other residential colonies, in the area. Whenever any AAP leader or minister came to this area, residents had only one question — when the mohalla clinics would be set up. They were assured every time that work was in progress and that the clinics would be set up soon,” he said.

JP Sharma, a resident of Overseas Apartments, said, “We were assured that two mohalla clinics would be opened — one in the DDA market and the other in Block B. But now we have to wait another year for them.”
