Many weddings were postponed due to protocols to check the spread of the virus. With fewer daily cases, the wedding season has arrived in Delhi and surely with a bang.

According to a report, 8000 weddings are going to be held on November 21, 2021 in Delhi. This dramatically high number is because of Dev Uthani Ekadashi, a day considered very auspicious.

According to several wedding planners, dates from 18-21 are fully booked. They have stopped taking any booking for these days a month ago in October. One of the event managers, Jatin said, "It is going to be a
hectic day. We generally take only 2-3 weddings per day according to the availability of staff but this year we have taken 5-7 weddings to manage."

Further, he mentioned that farmhouses and hotels are already booked therefore they have strictly divided their timings for different parties and ceremonies. He added, " This time unfortunately we have also refused
the customers demanding service on 21st November."

In this case, couples are facing hardship in finding desired venues for themselves as many of the venues are already booked. More weddings mean more cars on the road. Pandits and bandwallahs are also trying to squeeze in as much as possible. One of the people from Shiv Pawan Band said "We have got 5 bookings for
21st November and they all are at different locations starting from morning 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM. We usually get 2-3 bookings and sometimes only 1 but on the 21st there are so many bookings. We will have to do a lot of running around to meet our commitments.”

While this is happy news for the families involved, it increases the risk of traffic jams on the road. Most of the farmhouses are situated on the outskirts of Delhi, therefore there are many chances of getting stuck in traffic jams. Those planning a Sunday outing on November 21, are well-advised to give it a second thought. But if you are invited to one of these 8k weddings but then you have no choice but to look your best and grin and bear it. Not to forget, Covid protocols should be followed as the pandemic is not over yet.
