Residents of Supertech Ecovillage protest over pending registry

Greater Noida: Residents of Supertech Ecovillage 1, Ecovillage 2, and Ecovillage 3, recently protested against the builder over the pending registry of their flats. The home buyers first staged a sit-in protest at Kisan Chowk, GreNo West. Following this, they protested at the main gate of all three societies to their concern.

Residents shared that even after four and a half years, their flats have not been registered and Greater Noida Authority is not helping them. They pointed out that due to the non-registration of their flats, they have to pay extra interest on their loans. The residents also alleged that the builder is not ready to pay his dues to the Greater Noida Authority and the authority is afraid to take any action against him.
This project started in 2010-11. As of now, approximately 15,000 buyers have not received the registry of their residential flats. Several residents did not even get the requisite Occupancy Certificate and Completion Certificate (OC/CC) before they moved into their residential flats.

Mihir Gautam(40), a resident of Ecovillage 2 says, “If the authority does not take any action on the builder then we will continue to protest every Sunday. It’s been more than four years and I am still not the owner of my own house. The registry is still pending. All the residents of three societies will start a ‘no vote campaign,’ if the registry doesn't start.”
