Greater Noida: The stretch of Surajpur-Kasna road in front of Jagat Farm has been a perennial traffic problem. Something that makes things especially difficult for the pedestrians. Now, finally, the Greater Noida Authority is planning a foot overbridge at the stretch to make things easier for the pedestrians.
The Authority also plans to take more steps to ease the overall traffic congestion at the stretch. The authority has roped in the Apeejay School of Architect and Design to find a solution to the problem. On December 2, 2021, the school made a presentation before the Authority's CEO Narendra Bhushan, about a prospective plan to ease the traffic congestion. The students of Apeejay School of Architect and Design have been asked to submit the detailed project report in a week. The project would be implemented as soon as the plan gets approved by GNIDA.

Jagat Farm is one of the biggest markets of Greater Noida. There are several institutes on the other side of Surajpur-Kasna road. There is a rush of vehicles on the road from all sides, with pedestrians crossing the road, auto drivers standing there along with the usual traffic. Vehicular movement is affected because of the congestion. On the instructions of the CEO, the project department is trying to find a solution. The authority is trying to build a foot overbridge in front of Jagat Farm.
The bigger plan includes the making of proper auto stands, footpaths for pedestrians, and cycle tracks. The CEO asked to incorporate those suggestions which can be implemented quickly so that there is some quick relief. On the suggestions of the Apeejay institute, RITES, a traffic advisory body of Greater Noida, will also conduct an examination of the traffic issues on the stretch.
“Jagat Farm is one of the main markets of Greater Noida and draws a huge number of people. It is also an important road that connects Noida and Greater Noida. It is very important that the authorities address the traffic problems here. The unruly parking by auto drivers is a major issue here,” says a resident of Greater Noida. The residents also pointed that the stretch of road near Kulesara village is very problematic and sees daily peak hour traffic jams.
