Greater Noida: A team of the Public Health Department of Greater Noida Authority on Monday imposed a fine of Rs 24,000 on Anand Ashray Society located at Phi 2. The authority took penal action in response to the improper disposal of garbage by the society.

Solid Waste Management Rules 2016 are applicable in Greater Noida. Under this, the bulk waste generators such as high-rise societies, educational institutions have to dispose of the garbage on their own. The authority only picks up the inert waste that cannot be recycled. For that, a prescribed fee has to be paid.
