GreNo: Boraki to be turned into a railway junction

Greater Noida: Boraki, a village within the jurisdiction of Greater Noida, will emerge as a major transport hub of NCR in the coming days. There will be a bus stand, workshop, and CNG station developed on 14 acres of land. Boraki station is also going to be developed into a major railway junction. Once the project is complete, most of the Purvanchal bound trains will have a stopover at Bodaki. As part of the plan, the Noida-Greater Noida Metro would be extended to Boraki. The paperwork for this project has already started.

The responsibility of developing the junction is on IITGNL (Integrated Industrial Township Greater Noida Limited), a joint company of Greater Noida and the Government of India. Narendra Bhushan, CEO of Greater Noida Authority, is also the CEO and MD of IITGNL. IITGNL is also working on two more projects proposed near Boraki, Multimodal Transport Hub and Multimodal Logistics Hub.

Recently, on the occasion of the foundation stone laying ceremony of Noida Airport, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned these Boraki related projects in his speech. A meeting was held on December 6, 2021, under the chairmanship of CEO Narendra Bhushan to give a concrete shape to the multimodal transport hub. In the meeting, plans about building an inter-state bus stand in about 14 acres of land under a multimodal transport hub were discussed. Workshops and CNG pumps for buses will also be built inside it. The road connectivity of the multimodal transport hub will also be from the 105-meter road of Greater Noida. Along with this, it will also connect Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr through NH-91. The transport hub will also be connected to Noida Airport and Eastern Peripheral Expressway. This will enable passengers to travel to several states including Uttarakhand, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh besides UP. Local buses will also be run from Boraki. It is estimated that about one lakh passengers will travel daily from this bus stand in 2026.

Along with the bus stand, preparations have also intensified to take the metro to Boraki soon. IITGNL and NMRC are busy completing the paperwork. A detailed Project Report of the project will be finalized soon. Approval has also been received from the Government of India to develop Boraki as a railway junction. It is being considered to operate trains of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and Bihar from here. With the completion of these three projects, Boraki will emerge as a major transport hub in the coming days.
