Ghaziabad: Tribute to CDS General Bipin Rawat in different parts of the city

Ghaziabad: The residents of Ghaziabad paid rich tributes to India’s first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat, his wife and 11 other army officers and personnel at a number of events. All of them died in a helicopter crash in the Coonoor area of ​​Tamil Nadu on Wednesday.

The residents offered flowers to the pictures of General Bipin Rawat and prayed for the peace of the departed souls. Residents were of the opinion that Wednesday 7th December 2021 will always be remembered as an unfortunate day in India, as on this day the country lost one of its greatest warriors.

An event was organised in Amrapali Village society of Indirapuram on the evening of Thursday, December 8, 2021. Society members gathered in the society ground and paid their respect to CDS General Bipin Rawat and others by observing a  two minutes silence. They lit candles and offered flowers to the picture of Bipin Rawat and prayed for their families well being.

Nirmal Rawat Negi, a resident of Amrapali Village says,  “I am from Pauri Garhwal, Bipin sir’s hometown. My entire family lives there. When we heard about the helicopter crash everyone started praying for his well-being. My entire hometown was on its knees praying for his life. When his death was confirmed the entire city was grieving. This country lost a very eminent person today, Pauri Garhwal would always be remembered by the name of General Bipin Rawat.”

Sonu Malhotra, a resident of Amrapali Village says, “ The entire society was grieving for this loss. Sudden deaths of anyone brings sorrow, General Bipin Rawat is an irreplaceable loss for this country. Whenever this country will talk about Surgical strikes and anti-terrorism actions they won’t be able to complete the conversation without mentioning  the name of this brave soldier.”

Similar events were organised throughout the city. A heartfelt tribute was paid to Bipin Rawat in the 8th Battalion of NDRF located at Kamla Nehru Nagar.

P K Tiwari, commandant, 8th Battalion, NDRF says, “ Bipin Ji’s contribution in making our border impenetrable is un-measurable. Our whole team is praying for the well-being of his family. We lost one of the greatest soldiers of our motherland.”
 

Tearful tributes were paid to Bipin Rawat in many societies of Rajnagar Extension such as Aura Chimera, Ajnara Integrity, and Blue moon Homes among others.
