The trailer of Sara Ali Khan’s new movie, ‘Atrangi Re’ has already created a buzz everywhere. The movie is directed by Aanand L. Rai who has previously directed movies like Tanu weds Manu and Ranjhanaa. The unconventional cast of Sara Ali Khan, Dhanush and Akshay Kumar has made everyone excited. Sara Ali Khan along with the director of the film, Aanand L. Rai, recently addressed the press on this upcoming project in Delhi.
The name of Sara’s character in the movie is Rinku. While talking about her character, Sara said that there are different shades to Rinku. She further added that this character has helped her discover new things about herself. She said usually actors try to put their own interpretations to a character. However, it was different in this film.
“In this film, I have been able to understand Sara more because of Rinku. I don't know the reason for this but it's true. While playing Rinku, I understood myself more. Working with Anand Ji has made me discover things about me that I didn’t have any idea about before.”
Director Anand Rai shared that the trailer doesn’t give away everything about the character as there is more depth to it that can only be understood after watching the film.
About the message that the movie wants to put forward, Sara said, “There is indeed a big message in the film but you’ll know only when you watch the movie. The movie is all about love, wanting love and being honest and innocent.”
On being asked about the meaning of ‘Atrangi’ and working with Sara, director Aanand Rai shared, “Sara is lovely, it was easy for me to define ‘Atrangi’ after I cast her. It’s not as though Sara is similar to Rinku, but I believe that I could see that capability and depth in her to play a character like Rinku.”
Sara also talked about her experience working with Akshay Kumar. "Akshay and I are both very disciplined, at least I try to be. So every morning, we made it a point to go to the gym and then to make it on time to shoot."
She further said that the intricate world created by Aanand L. Rai in the film was an enriching experience for all the actors. The journey of the film has brought them closer. "I don’t know if the audience will like the movie or not but I am sure we have put a lot of hard work and honesty in making it.”
