Shri Radha Sky Garden: Residents forced to brace a life without lifts

Greater Noida: Many of us chose to take the stairs, instead of lifts, for the health benefits it entails. But when you are forced to climb 20 floors, with the option of lift having been taken away from you, then it is a different story altogether. As of now the residents of Tower 3 of Shri Radha Sky Garden, Sector 16 B, Greater Noida are forced to live a life without lifts.

The residents of Tower 3 of Shri Radha Sky Garden, are a miffed lot today. Out of the two lifts in the tower, one has not been working for the last three years. To make matters worse, for the last three days, the only remaining working lift is not functioning as well. The tower has 20 stories and about 60 families are living in the tower. Residents have filed a police complaint about the non-functional lifts in their tower. The residents shared this information through Twitter. A tweet read,

"@SGrenowest Tower 3(19 story)both lifts are not working since last more than 24 hours, We are not getting any response from @SHRI_Group management @OfficialGNIDA @dmgbnagar @noidapolice @2_noida please help us

जमीन खरीदा हवा बेंची और अब रेजीडेंट्स को हवा मे लटका दिया."

Residents are pointing that the non-functioning lifts are not troubling just them, but the domestic help and garage collectors working in the tower are the worst sufferers. In addition, the problem is also hampering home delivery services. A life without could have serious consequences for the elderly residents, pregnant women and the infirm.

Gaurav Patel, a resident of the society says, "For the last three years, the load of the tower is on only one lift. Now, even that is not working. Who would take responsibility in case of some emergency?"

Abhay Kumar, 46, a resident of tower 3 says, "I have a problem in my knees and climbing stairs is very difficult for me. We have no option but to use the stairs while going for our daily grocery shopping or other household chores. It's been three days but no action has been taken by the builder and maintenance team."

Vinay Bharti, 50, another resident of tower 3 says, "I live on the 10th floor. The residents are having a tough time using the stairs. We have also filed a complaint so that this matter resolves soon."

CitySpidey also tried to contact the builder and the housing society's maintenance team but they were not available.
