Greater Noida: Under the ongoing campaign of 'No registry, No vote', residents of Supertech Ecovillage 1, Ecovillage 2 and Ecovillage-3 took to wheels this weekend. In a novel attempt to get their distressed voices heard, the residents organised a car and bike rally, to protest against the builder and Greater Noida Authority on Sunday, December 12, 2021.

About 150 vehicles took part in the protest. For the last four years, residents have been struggling to get their registry papers. The protest which started from Ek Murti Roundabout at 11.30 AM, covered a distance of eight kilometres in the colony neighbourhood and finished back at the starting point in about two hours. The residents carried placards and shouted slogans to press home their demands. Nearly, 15,000 home buyers are facing the issue of pending registration from the three societies. In most cases, the residents are living in their flats without registry papers due to builder and authority disputes. Residents of other societies in Greater Noida such as La Redentia, Panchsheel, SRSG and Elegant villa also took part in the protest to lend their support.

Residents pointed out that due to the non-registration of their flats they have to pay extra interest on their loans to the banks. They also alleged that the builder has not paid his dues to the Greater Noida. Authority and the Authority is still not taking any action against him. As per residents, they made sure that the commuters are not hassled because of their protest. Residents shared that the protest will go on every weekend until the registry of their flats starts.

This Supertech Ecovillage project started in 2010-11. As of now, approximately 15,000 buyers have not received the registry of their residential flats. Several residents did not even get the requisite Occupancy Certificate and Completion Certificate (OC/CC) before they  moved into their residential flats.

Neeraj Shrivastav, 36, a resident of Ecovillage says, "Greater Noida Authority is also not helping us. This is why we took our protest to the roads. The elections will come soon and we will not vote if the registration of our flats does not start."

Mihir Gautam(40), a resident of Ecovillage 2 says, "The protest will take place every weekend under the 'No Vote, No registry' campaign. It's been more than four years and I am still not the owner of my own house as its registry is still pending. Homebuyers from Panchsheel, La Residencia, and SRSG also took part in the protest to lend their support to our cause."
