How to get rid of effluents from the sewage treatment plants installed in societies? How to arrange a systematic parking system? Check out what all issues were discussed on the Sept 28Â meeting between AOA Federation and GDA.
There are issues and there are more issues: How to get rid of treated effluents from the sewage treatment plants installed in Indirapuram societies? How to arrange a systematic parking system? And why the delays in road repairing in Ahinsa Khand II?
It's to discuss these that on September 28 that representatives of AOA Federation Ghaziabad met officials of Ghaziabad Development Authority (GDA) at their office. Of course, the meeting was powered by all the heavyweights of the area and that included Ravindra Godbole, secretary of GDA; Ishtiyak Ahmed, chief town planner; Dayanand Prasad, OSD; Chakresh Jain, executive engineer; and Rajendra Kumar Tyagi, legal advisor.
Here are high-fivers of the meeting.
1. Water green areas with treated effluents
How to dispose of treated effluents from the sewage treatment plants installed in societies? After all, it's the residents of various societies who end up bearing the cost of carrying the waste water away from the society for disposal. Well, why not use the effluent to water green areas in and around the societies? That was GDA's suggestion.
2. What's delaying road reconstructions in Ahinsa Khand II?
Repair work for the sewerage network in the area had to be carried out first, the GDA engineer informed. Then comes the roads. He, however, was quick to point out that repair works on patches of road that needed immediate attention are being carried out.
3. Demand for SOP for handover of flats
The resident body asked for a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for handover of societies from the builder to the AOA. As of now, there is none. GDA officials, didn't commit to this one, but said they were ready to organise meetings in order to find a common ground between the builder and the residents.
4. More Ganga jal, please
Most housing societies rely on groundwater due to unavailability of Ganga Jal supply. Members of AOA Federation Ghaziabad complained that the extraction of groundwater remains unchecked, which leads to misuse of the depleting resource. GDA officials assured them that they were working on a long-term solution for enhancing the Ganga water supply in Indirapuram.
5. What to do about traffic congestion due to erratic parking?
Of course, erratic parking all over Indirapuram leads to traffic snarls and Sunita Nagpal, a member of the federation, requested GDA officials to impose a one-way rule for Indirapuram's arterial roads. "Send in your proposals for traffic management," urged Ravindra Godbole, secretary of GDA. Residents suggestions would be considered if found applicable, Godbole assured.
