The wait for the first look of director Ayan Mukherjee's much anticipated Brahmāstra is finally over. The motion poster of the film was launched on December 15. It stars the power pair of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt along with Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. Brahmāstra is one of the most keenly awaited big-ticket entertainers of 2022. It is said to be an epic convergence of ancient India and the modern world.

Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt along with director Ayan Mukerji unveiled the motion picture amidst glittering fanfare at a grand event in Delhi's Thyagaraj Stadium. In the presence of hordes of fans, and also announced the official release date of the film which is September 9, 2022. On this, Ayan also said that number nine is quite special for the film.

Ayan Mukherjee has been working on this big project for almost a decade now and it is said to be his magnum opus. He says, “It’s a story I have lived for the last 10 years. Brahmāstra is the perfect family big-ticket entertainer, a cinematic experience unlike anything seen in India before, filled with fantasy and adventure, with drama and a lot of heart and I am happy to finally present it to audiences. We have envisioned and scaled Brahmāstra with cutting edge technology and never seen before visual spectacles, an attempt to create a global pop culture phenomenon from India.” He continues, “It gives us immense happiness to see audiences back to the theatres, and my team and I are keenly looking forward to an exciting journey, as we share Brahmāstra with our audiences over the next few months.”

Ranbir and Alia, while addressing the fans, said that they have missed this feeling of promoting films and meeting with fans for around two years now and doing this for Brahmāstra is quite special. They also said that the team of the film really wanted fans to be a part of Brahmāstra and thus they decided to launch the motion poster in a fan event. Ranbir also mentioned missing his father on the occasion who passed away last year.

Brahmāstra is a three part project and the first installment of it will release next year. The motion poster of the film hints at Ranbir Kapoor possessing supernatural capabilities of Lord Shiva and the awakening of the most powerful weapon in the world. Made under the banner of Dharma Productions, the film is a big budget project and the motion poster reveals the use of rich VFX.
