Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Industrial Development Authority Officials inspected the Gaur City area on Monday December 20, 2021, to address the environmental issues and concerns of the area.

The Authority team, during their visit, took note of several issues like maintenance of the trees on the central verge, roadside tree guards, regular watering, and planting roadside grass.

Earlier, the residents of Gaur city had a meeting with Narendra Bhushan, CEO, Noida Authority, where they complained about the damage caused to the neighbouring trees and environment during development work by the Authority. Discussions were held along with the GRENO GREEN team, a resident group that has been organizing self-contributed plantation drives in Noida and Greater Noida.

The team also inspected the Central Verge road of Gaur City 1 and 2 and gave directions to improve the condition of plants that are adversely affected because of development work. The untreated water drained out by the different societies into the open drains was also noted. "Since the sewer is disposed of by the builder's society, a fine will be imposed on defaulter societies,” said an official from GNIDA.

Saurabh Vikas, a resident of Gaur City 2, says, “We have been planting trees for a very long time now. It was disheartening to watch these plants getting destroyed. But hopefully, after the Authority's intervention, these trees can be taken care of”.
