Oh, it's midnight! Time for a power cut in Noida

Faced with two-hour power cuts around midnight for the past four days, FONRWA has written to UPPCL to please let Noida residents sleep in peace.

Oh, it's midnight! Time for a power cut in Noida

Federation of Noida RWAs has written to the chairman of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL), raising serious concerns about the power cuts plaguing the city these days. Over the past four days, various parts of Noida have been experiencing more than two hours of power cut around midnight.

The federation asked UPPCL to explain these frequent power cuts keeping in mind the decreased electricity consumption this time of year. The letter said that these power cuts were affecting the entire demographic, from officegoers to senior citizens.

FONRWA has asked the top officials of UPPCL to issue necessary directions to PVVNL, the electricity distribution authority in Noida, to sort out the problem. If at all they had to endure power cuts, it might as well be during the day and not around midnight, said the federation.

When City Spidey contacted Mukul Singhal, superintending engineer of UPPCL, he said, "There is a scarcity of power in the entire state. A lack of coal supply to thermal power stations is the reason behind that." He, however, said the problem would be fixed within a few days.
