GreNo: Authority office to become a viewpoint

Greater Noida: If all goes according to plan, the office of Greater Noida Authority would soon be a vision for the sore eyes. The residents of Greater Noida may continue to have their share of complaints and misgivings about the working of the Authority, but they won't be able to find faults with the visual presence of the Authority's office.

Soon the GreNo Authority office won't be just another government office where people go with their grievances. It is going to be developed as a viewpoint of the city. The entire building will be decorated with lights. In the evening as the sun goes down, the colorful lights on the office will light up. The residents of Greater Noida will be able to enjoy this view. The tender for this has already been issued by the authority.

Along with lighting the roads of Greater Noida with LED street lights, efforts are being made to give a different look to the authority office. The idea is to create a spectacle which people can capture on their cameras. There is also a plan to develop 'Happiness Park' adjacent to the authority office as a picnic spot, in which kids play area, fitness park, ayurvedic garden, sitting area, etc. will be developed. Also, Facade lights will be installed in the authority office. An LED board with the words Greater Noida will be installed on the roof of the office. This board will be visible even during the day.

Shweta Bharati, General Secretary NEFOWA says, "It's good that they are decorating their office and making it a viewpoint for residents. However, before doing all these things, they should consider issues related to pending registries. On one side, Authority says they are lacking funds but on the other hand, they are doing this. Every Sunday, residents are protesting on the streets. Why is that not taken into concern?"

Saurabh Vikas, a resident of Gaur City 2, says, "The other things like play area, picnic spots and more is a good gesture. However, the decoration of the building with lights, I am not much impressed with it, since it's only a wastage of money. This money should rather be used in helping the residents who are in dire need of it. Rest the authority knows well".
