Shri Radha Sky Garden Society penalised for poor garbage disposal

Greater Noida: The Greater Noida Authority has imposed a fine of Rs 2.16 lakh on the builder of Shri Radha Sky Garden, a group housing society in Sector 16B, Greater Noida. This penalty has been imposed by the Public Health Department of the authority because of improper management of garbage dumping in the society.

On December 29, 2021, Public Health Department inspected the Shri Radha Sky Garden Society on the complaint of the residents. Upon investigation, it was revealed that there is no proper arrangement for the disposal of garbage in the housing society. It was seen that the garbage was thrown carelessly throughout society.

Thereafter, Public Health Department has instructed the builder to deposit the fine of 2.16 lakhs to  Greater Noida Authority within the stipulated time. The Department has warned to double the amount of fine if proper management of the society garbage is not ensured soon.

On the instructions of Noida Authority's CEO Narendra Bhushan, the Public Health Department has started a campaign to make Greater Noida cleaner. Along with making people aware of proper management of garbage, penalties are being imposed over improper garbage management.

Salil Yadav, an official of the Public Health Department says, "Solid Waste Waste Management Rules 2016 is applicable in Greater Noida. Under this, the bulk waste generators, such as large societies, educational institutions, etc have to dispose of the garbage on their own. The Authority only picks up the inert waste that cannot be recycled. A prescribed fee has to be paid for that."

Gaurav Patel, a resident of Shri Radha Sky says, "We visited the Authority on Wednesday and raised our issues. At the request of residents, ACEO gave orders to the Health Department to visit the society. The Health Department has imposed a fine on the builder due to improper garbage dumping."

CitySpidey also tried to reach out to the builder but he was unresponsive.
