Rajiv Chowk metro station to be out of bounds after 9 pm on 31st

To ease overcrowding on New Year's Eve December 31, 2021, exit from Rajiv Chowk Metro station will not be allowed from 9 PM onwards.   However, entry of passengers will be allowed till the departure of the last train from the station.

With 263 cases of Omicron, the highest in the country as of Thursday morning, a yellow alert has been imposed in the city.

The Connaught place in Rajiv Chowk is one of the main centres when it comes to New Year celebrations in Delhi. However, with Omicron posing a huge threat, curbs are being imposed to prevent the spread of Covid in the capital.

Additional restrictions include Night Curfew from 10-5 am, closing down of educational institutions, cinemas, and gyms, as well as a 50 percent cap on the seating capacity of Metro trains and public buses.
