Vaccination of 15-18 years children to begin in Delhi from tomorrow

The vaccination of children between 15-18 years of age will begin from January 3, 2021, in Delhi. Preparations are in full swing for administering the first shot of Covaxin to children under this age group. Vaccines will be administered at nearly 1000 centres across the city. Private hospitals will also provide the vaccine at government decided rates.

CoWin registration for the age group began on January 1, 2021. As per official guidelines, children with the birth year of 2007 or before will be eligible for vaccination under this category. The booking of vaccines remains open till 6 pm on the CoWin application.

As per Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, the national capital has the capacity to vaccinate 3 lakh children falling in the age group of 15 to 18 years every day.

In different areas of Delhi, schools, hospitals, dispensaries, community and voting centres will serve as vaccination centres. Nearly 24 centres in East Delhi, 30 centres in New Delhi, 15 centres in North-west Delhi, 17 centres in South Delhi and 31 centres in West Delhi will administer vaccines for children from tomorrow.

Moreover, special preparations such as reading space, indoor games and toys have been arranged at some private hospitals for children to indulge in during the observation time of 30 minutes. Vaccines will be available at INR 1200-1410 in these hospitals.
