Noida- First Electric Vehicle Charging Station in Noida’s society

In order to facilitate a shift towards electric vehicles in Noida, an EV charging station is being set up in Prateek Wisteria, Sector 77. It will be available for use from January 26, 2022.

This move has been taken by ACDC electric in association with Prateek Wisteria Apartments Owners Association to bring the convenience of Electric Vehicle Charging to their doorstep.  This charging station will be installed in guest parking near gate no  1 of the society.

According to a survey, the EV market has been growing on the back of a government push. Several companies are forming partnerships with builders and AOA’s to set up Electric Vehicle Charging Stations. In addition to the survey, it has been seen that companies providing charging stations are seeing an escalation in demand from real estate developers and residents' welfare associations  (RWAs) in several cities.

Amit Gupta, RWA President of Prateek Wisteria, says, “We want the people from our society to opt for electric vehicles. As of now only a couple of people in our colony own electric cars. But in the near future, I think, more and more people will buy electric cars. As  EV cars are more cost-effective,  more convenient and eco-friendly."
According to Abhishek Jha, a founding member of ACDC electric, there are three types of charging. One is slow which takes around 12-15 hours to charge, another mode is fast charging depending on power ratings and it generally takes around 6-7 hours to charge the car. For the specialised machines, specialised charges are required, those chargers are portable and compact in nature. Then there is rapid mode charging, which looks like petrol pumps. The fuel stations also have these chargers. It usually takes 15-30 minutes to charge the vehicles.

He says, "We have just started in Noida and this is the first society where we are installing this charging station. We have installed these stations in a few societies of Ghaziabad. We usually go to AOAs and approach them. If they like our idea then we move ahead with several presentations. We encourage people to switch to electric vehicles. Since there is a lack of charging infrastructure, as of now, people feel reluctant to buy electric cars”.
