Administration of booster shot begins in Noida

As the third wave of Covid has hit the country, the Healthline workers have once again geared up to protect the country. As announced by the Prime Minister, a precautionary dose of the corona vaccine has been started from today. Health workers, frontline workers along with senior citizens suffering from chronic diseases are eligible for this precautionary vaccine.

According to the Health Ministry, there is no need to register for the precautionary vaccine dose, those who are eligible can make an appointment directly or visit a vaccination centre. Health and frontline workers as well as people over the age of 60 who have diabetes, hypertension and chronic diseases also have the option of receiving a "precautionary dose" on the advice of their doctor.

However, people eligible for this will be given a booster dose only after 9 months of taking the second dose of the Covid vaccine. The third dose will be the same vaccine that people have received for their first and second doses.

As the cases of corona increase, many doctors and health workers have come in contact with the disease. Many of these have been infected for the second time despite vaccination. Infections among health workers have been particularly high in metros. No decision has yet been made on a booster dose for all adults.

Preparations of booster shot have also begun in Noida. More than 400 slots were booked for a booster dose on the very first day of vaccination that is January 10, 2022 at Felix Hospital. A free complete body checkup has been arranged for the beneficiaries coming for the vaccine in the hospital.  Moreover, free consultation has been arranged for senior citizens taking the precautionary shot.

Dr DK Gupta, Chairman, Felix Hospital said that all the necessary preparations have been tested before the administration of the booster dose including free consultations kidney, liver, heart, diabetes and free cardiologist.

The timings of vaccination may vary in other hospitals of Gautam Buddh Nagar.
