The weekend is here, or the time familiar to us for watching new movies at the box office. Going to the theatres may be difficult, but OTT has seemingly transformed into a promising source of entertainment for the weekends. This Friday, 14th January, which is also the festival of kites (Makar Sankranti) will come with a series of new titles, headlined by Netflix's Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein. Disney+ Hotstar and Amazon Prime Video also get additions that make for great weekend binges. Take your pick-

 New movies & series releasing on weekend you shouldn't miss:-

1. Hotel Transylvania: Transformania - Amazon Prime Video

The animated monster comedy is one of the most loved franchises. Drac and the pack are back like never before on Amazon Prime Video. A new invention by Van Helsing changes Drac and his friends into humans and Johnny into a monster. However, they need to find a way to get back into their original forms before this spell becomes irreversible.

2. Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa - Amazon Prime Video

Scheduled to release in the second week of January, Putham Pudhu Kaalai Vidiyaadhaa is the second installment of the anthology Putham Pudhu Kaalai. The series feature Nadia Moidu, Joju George, Rithika, Manikandan Mathavan.

3. Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein - Netflix

Another stunning addition to the Hindi crime thrillers on Netflix comes in the form of Yeh Kaali Kaali Ankhein. It shows the exploitation of power. A politician's daughter pursues a man and will do anything to make him hers. However, for the man who doesn't want any relationship with her, the path ahead seems dark and risky.

4. The House - Netflix

The House is an eccentric dark comedy about a house and the three surreal tales of the individuals who made it their home. An anthology directed by the leading voices in independent stop motion animation: Emma de Swaef and Marc Roels, Niki Lindroth von Bahr and Paloma Baeza and produced by Nexus Studios.

5. Archive 81 - Netflix

An original story loosely inspired by the popular podcast of the same name. An archivist takes a job restoring damaged videotapes and gets pulled into the dark mystery involving the missing director and a demonic cult. Archive 81 is a supernatural thriller series executive produced by showrunner Rebecca Sonnenshine, James Wan and Michael Clear of Atomic Monster.

6. Human - Disney+ Hotstar

Starring Shefali Shah and Kirti Kulhari, Human is a medical thriller that revolves around drug trials on humans. Directed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah along with Mozez Singh, the show sheds light on mysteries behind human trials and who are the ones involved in this.

7. Ranjish Hi Sahi - Voot Select

First on the list of new releases in January is Ranjish Hi Sahi. This Mahesh Bhatt venture, starring Tahir Raj Bhasin, Amrita Puri and Amala Paul, is set in the 70s era of Bollywood. It is about a successful filmmaker who is married but still finds himself drawn to an eccentric superstar, and that changes his life forever. It explores temptation, forbidden love, passion, trust, marriage, loyalty, stability, obsession, and separation.
