GreNo: High rise societies lack sanitation and Covid protocol, say residents

Greater Noida: The increasing cases of Covid-19 in Greater Noida has left the residents scared. One more reason for the residents to worry is the increase in the pollution levels in the city. Residents of several societies in GreNo have complained of lack of sanitation, lack of Covid appropriate behavior and improper disposal of garbage.

As per residents, there are no proper arrangements to follow Covid-19 protocols. The garbage is still dumped in the lobbies and in common areas.

CitySpidey talked to the residents of a few societies who are unhappy due to the lack of safety precautions taken by the builders.

Dhirendra Nigam(37), a resident of Panchsheel Hynish says, "There are no Covid precautions that are taken in our society. Anyone can enter without a mask or thermal screening. From the builder's side, no Covid protocols are followed in the society. The garbage is still dumped improperly in the  lobbies. The authorities should do something about it."

Same is the story of Springs Meadows society. Vikas Katiyar (38), a resident says, "There is no sanitisation work happening in our society. The cases are increasing day by day. There is no process of thermal screening on entry gates. Builders should sanitize lifts and the common area including parking."

Other societies like Mayfair Residency and Ecovillage 2 are also facing similar issues. Prateet Baijal (32), a resident of Mayfair Residencysays, "Everyone knows the condition of our society. No thermal screening is happening at the entry gate. Anyone can easily enter our society. At least the builder should provide the sanitisation in the lifts and on entry and exit gates."

Jyoti Jaiswal(42), a resident of the Ecovillage 2 says, "In our society, thermal screening is happening on the entry gate but still, there is lack of sanitation. There is no facility of sanitizers and masks at the reception and the entry gates. This year, we also canceled our Lohri celebration."
