Top three Durga Pujo of Noida are...

Durga Puja celebrations are in full swing, and Noida has plenty to offer for your must-visit list.  City Spidey takes you on a tour of the three best pandals of the city.

1.  Venue: Kali Bari, Sector 26

Kali Bari Durga Pujo tops the list and no pandal hopping is complete without visiting this one, which steps into its 34th year. NP Singh, district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar, inaugurated the pujo. All the arrangements have been done by the Noida Bengali Culture Association (NBCA).

As a tribute to the Indian soldiers, they have erected an India Gate. And, you need to walk through it to view the Durga protima (idol), which is 20-feet-high, the biggest in Noida. The pandal wears a traditional look, in sync with the festive spirit.

According to Rajat Bannerji, committee secretary, the footfall every day has been around 20,000.

A competition of home-cooked delicacies, or Anondo Mela, was also organised  by the NBCA, and a 75-year-old-lady, Aditi Chatterji, won the competition. During the evening, a host of Bengali singers from Kolkata are expected to perform on the stage.

2. Venue: Opposite to Community Centre, Sector 50

What's pujo without the ubiquitous dhak! And now, you have an entire pandal in the shape of a dhak. It has been organised by the Saptarshi Sangha Trust, which has more than 200 Bengali families as members. The pujo entered its 12th year. All the decoration inside the pandal have been done by the ladies of the sector. The small dhaks inside have been fashioned out of cardboard and ropes.

Debasmita Sarkar, a pandal committee member, said, "Durga pujo can never be complete without dhak, so this year, we decided to theme our pandal on it."

3. Venue: H block Park, Jalvayu Vihar, Sector 25

Gram Bangla or rural Bengal is the theme of this pujo. It has been organised by the Sanskriti Kalyan Samiti, which has about 215 members. This pujo enters its 24th year. The protima is daker shaaj ekchala, which means that all the five gods and goddesses are to be a part of one unified structure known as the ekchala.

Sandeep Ghosh, a committee member, said "The alpona inside the pandal haso been done by the ladies and the children. The drapes used inside for decoration are hand-printed too."
