Brahma Apartments initiative to connect community with books

The residents of Brahma Apartments have inaugurated a community library in the hall inside society premises. As informed by the secretary of the society, Munish Kundra, the initiative has been taken to connect people with books especially the kids. He is one of the pioneers of the idea to open a library by donating his books and a shelf for the purpose.

"It was in my mind for a long time but finally during the pandemic, I decided to start this library for kids. This will give children a chance to interact and to get connected with the books. I just tried to create some social life for kids post-pandemic and I hope it will be a success." says Munish. As gathered by Munish, on January 30, 2022, about a hundred books have been placed in the library donated by the people.

People of the society are coming forward to support the cause and soon more books would be added to the library. "We have spread the message in the society and also in our friend circle to donate books," says he. People from inside the society and even other societies can avail the facility of reading and borrowing books from this library.

Many residents were present on the occasion of the inauguration of the library. Jyoti Jakhar, a resident of Brahma Apartments said that she too would donate books and would help the cause. "This is such a beautiful initiative and we are planning to make a reading club here in future. Today, it has started and now we will be asking people to come and support the cause. We also plan to appoint an in charge of the library. Anyone can volunteer for that."

People from different sectors of Dwarka were also present on the occasion who appreciated the initiative of the society. Anuradha GR, a resident from Sector 22 says, "Such initiative should be taken by the community in other societies too. This would help in promoting reading habits in children."
