Surgeries to restart in Combined District Hospital, Ghaziabad

Almost after a year, operational surgeries will commence in Combined District Hospital, Sanjay Nagar, Ghaziabad. There was no surgeon in the hospital after the former practicing surgeon of the hospital, Dr. Akhilesh Mohan became CMO of Meerut. CMS Dr. VC Pandey has been appointed as the new practicing surgeon of the hospital and will start operating the surgery procedures soon.

Dr VC Pandey is currently with MMG Hospital and is available two days a week in Combined District Hospital. Almost 1000 to 1200 patients visit the Combined District Hospital every day. During the last year, due to the absence of surgeons, the patients were referred either to MMG hospital or Delhi.

The condition in the hospital deteriorated after Covid as several doctors and hospital staff got infected. There were 6 female pathologists, 2 eye surgeons, and 1 child specialist doctor who contracted Covid. In the past year, operational surgeries of hernia, cataract, stone, bone, appendix, nose, ear and neck among other were stopped in the hospital and only the emergency cases were treated.

However, all the infected doctors have fully recovered now. The hospital is getting back on its feet with recovered staff and doctors. All the surgeries will be performed there now.
