Considerably long after the teaser of this movie, the trailer of Gangubai Kathiawadi, has arrived. And as expected, it is a Bhansali show with many talented actors. The first peek of the film was released quite a while ago, but the trailer was launched recently on 4th February 2022.
Alia Bhatt plays Gangubai, one of the most powerful, revered, and respected madams from Mumbai's red-light district Kamathipura during the 1960s. Sanjay Leela Bhansali never fails to surprise us with his larger-than-life portrayal and impressive direction.
The trailer shows a red light area. Yet, this is the universe of Bhansali, so even the squalor looks grand. We see Alia adorned in handcrafted chickankaari sarees and jewellery. Apart from this, the movie appears like an entertainer. Alia delivers dialogues with ease and confidence making us cheer for her.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on the non-fiction crime novel Hussain Zaidi's cult classic Mafia Queens Of Mumbai. Following her journey from the moment, she was forced into prostitution to the time she proudly donned her dark history as a beautiful badge of honour and sat atop her ecosystem's moat.
The supporting cast makes it even more exciting. Vijay Raaz, in the fiery avatar of Razia Bai, Gangu's rival in Kamathipura is certainly impressive. Apart from this, a cast of Seema Pahwa, Jim Sarbh, and Ajay Devgn reveals that there's something for everyone. The anticipation for this one is at an all-time high right now.
Gangubai Kathiawadi trailer is a success in every way. Whether it's Alia Bhatt's outstanding performance, even when she has to say a slur or a sneak peek at the exciting supporting cast. Gangubai will come to theatres on February 25, 2022.
