Lowest number of Covid cases in Ghaziabad in last two months

Ghaziabad: “Life is coming back on track after a long and deadly pandemic, people are going to the office and schools have reopened for children, there's no panic amongst the people which is a relief”, says Nitin Tyagi, resident of Ajnara Integrity society, Ghaziabad.

Ghaziabad witnessed a drop in the number of COVID cases in the district. The lowest number of Covid infected patients, 46, in the last two months, have been reported in the last 24 hours. 15 out of these patients have been admitted to different hospitals. Now, the total number of patients admitted to the hospital is 23. According to state figures, 644 patients are being treated in the district.

Covid cases have remained below 1000 for the fifth consecutive day. 169 people were discharged from the COVID portal on February 9, 2022. In this month, 1028 patients have tested positive in nine days, whereas 2360 patients tested positive in one day in January. In January, 27052 patients were infected.

“Vaccination has played a crucial part in decreasing the number of cases, I do request everyone to get fully vaccinated. In our society also, we are following guidelines strictly, no one is allowed to enter the society without mask and people must wear a mask while they are using public services like a lift”, Kapil Tyagi, President of RWA of Divyansh Pratham Society, Indirapuram.

It is also true that testing has gone down with the decline of Covid cases in the city. At present, 5500 to 5700 people are being screened in a day whereas, in January, seven to eight thousand tests were being done in a day.
