Vivek Agnihotri's 'The Kashmir Files' trailer out

The first trailer of Vivek Agnihotri's film The Kashmir Files has dropped. Starring Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumaar, Prakash Belawadi and Pallavi Joshi among others, the movie is about the mass exodus and violence faced by Kashmiri Pandits in the 90s.

The trailer shows Kashmir engulfed in a period of intense civil and communal tensions. Judging by what is shown in the trailer, the film deals with different aspects of the Kashmir issue and the happenings around the exodus of Pandits. What jumps out at you is the showing of characters going through a lot of heightened emotional turmoil, which sets the tone of what to expect.

The highlight of the trailer is a perceived long monologue picturised on Anupam Kher, about a Kashmiri Pandits point of view of the Kashmir issue.
The trailer also shows a few poignant dialogues being uttered by the characters, such as a character played by veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty, saying “Kashmiri Pandits also went through so much, but they never picked up a gun, why?”
From what is seen in the trailer the film doe not shy away from showing graphic violence.

Being such a politically and communally sensitive topic, it is hoped that the filmmakers have done an objective narration of this very controversial episode in the history of modern India.

In the Kashmir Files trailer review, netizens shower praises. Let’s have a look:
